Bluetooth (Bluetooth protocol) was created by Ericsson and, together with other industry-leading developers, the Bluetooth technical standard was established on May 20, 1999. This wireless communication technology was ultimately named Bluetooth.

Characteristics: Simple transmission and a transmission rate several times faster than ZigBee.

Widely used in mobile phones and audio fields.

Advantages: Low power consumption, fast transmission rate, short connection establishment time, good stability, and high security.

Disadvantages: Limited data transmission size, small number of device connections, and single connectivity of Bluetooth devices.

The Bluetooth 5 standard, officially released on June 17, 2016, significantly improves indoor positioning accuracy, with faster transmission and longer distance.
